Spaghetti With Marinara Sauce Recipe
Recipe Ingredients:
1 tsp olive oil 3/4 cup chopped onion 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped 2 cups water 1 can no-salt-added tomato sauce - (16 oz) 1 can tomato paste - (6 oz) 2 bay leaves 1 tsp dried oregano leaves 1 tsp dried basil leaves 1/2 tsp dried marjoram leaves 1/2 tsp honey 1/4 tsp freshly-ground black pepper 8 oz uncooked spaghetti, cooked, drained, and kept hot
Recipe Instructions:
Heat oil in large saucepan. Add onion and garlic. Cook and stir 5 minutes or until onion is tender. Add water, tomato sauce, tomato paste, bay leaves, oregano, basil, marjoram, honey and pepper. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Remove and discard bay leaves. Measure 2 cups sauce; reserve remaining sauce for another use. Serve sauce on pasta.
This recipe yields 4 servings.
