Tossed Salad Crisscross Recipe
Recipe Ingredients:
BASIC SALAD GREENS
CHOOSE 1 OR MORE OF ANY
BELOW TO TOTAL 12 CUPS
Iceberg, boston, bibb Leaf, red leaf, romaine Escarole,spinach, watercress Endive(french-belgian) Curly endive
SALAD SPARKERS (ANY BELOW
Endive(french-belgian)
1 OR MORE TOTAL 1 1/2 CUP
Endive(french-belgian)
FRESH VEGETABLES
Carrots, cauliflowerets Celery, cucumbers, Green peppers, mushrooms, Onions, radishes, tomato Zucchini, or any squash
COOKED VEGETABLES
Artichoke hearts or bottoms Plain or marinated Dilled green beans, beans Green peas, Marinated sliced carrots
FRUITS
Apples, avocados, orange
CHEESE
Parmesam, swiss, cheddar
MEAT, FISH OR POULTRY
Ham, tongue, cold cuts, Shrimp, crabmeat, lobster Turkey, chicken
TOSS WITH SHAKE TO MIX
1/4 cup Vegetable oil, olive oil, Or a combination of both 2 tbsp Cider, wine, tarragon Vinegar 3/4 tsp Salt 1/8 tsp To 1/4 ts pepper 1 small Clove garlic, crushed
GARNISH CHOOSE 1 OR 2 MORE
Bacon, blue cheese, carrot Curls, cherry tomatoes, Cocktail onions, croutons, French fried onions, Gherkins, hard cooked eggs Olives, salted nuts
Recipe Instructions:
Find your own favorites, then mix and match to suit the occasion. To the salad greens I have used cabbage, either green or red, or both, or sprouts
To the salad sparkers, I MUST have broccoli.
