Tuna With Biscuits Recipe
Recipe Ingredients:
1/2 cup onion, chopped 2 tbsp margarine, low calorie 6 tbsp flour 2 tsp chicken bouillon granules 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp dried thyme 1/8 tsp pepper 2 cups skim milk, or 1% 1 1/2 cups water 13 oz tuna in water, drained, flaked 2 cups peas and carrots, frozen, or mixed veggies 3 tbsp parsley 1 package refrigerator biscuits, eight
Recipe Instructions:
Cook onion in margarine until tender but not brown. Stir in flour, bouillion granules, salt, thyme and pepper. Add milk and water. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Stir in fish and cooked veggies and parsley. Heat till bubbly. Immediately pour into a 1 1/2--2quart casserole dish. Place biscuits on top and bake in a 400 F oven about 10-12 min. (Cover top with aluminum foil after 7-8 min. to keep top from getting too brown.) Each serving provides: 1 Vegetable, 1 Fat, 2 1/4 Breads, 1/2 milk, 1 1/2 protein, and 5 optional calories. NOTE If you change to a different meat or veg, you will have to adjust your exchanges, also with your biscuits. Source: Dennis Worden
