Winter Fruit Bowl Recipe


Recipe Ingredients:

1 tart apple, unpeeled, diced
1 medium banana, peeled, sliced
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 cup red or green grapes
1 small orange, peeled, sectioned
1 tbsp minced crystallized ginger
2 tsp minced fresh mint

 

Recipe Instructions:

Combine the apple and banana in a bowl and sprinkle with lemon juice. Add the remaining ingredients and toss well.

Cover refrigerate for 1 hour prior to serving.

This recipe yields 6 servings. Serving size: 1/2 cup.

Exchanges Per Serving: 2 1/2 Starch, 1 Monounsaturated Fat.

Comments: Definitely have fruit among your dessert offerings. The trick to enlivening the flavor of this receipe is the warm, spicy crystallized ginger.
